Inspiration - Garden

In anticipation of warmer weather, I'm gathering garden pictures.   Plans for our backyard include: stuccoing the walls, a green roof for the shed, shade of some sort, a table to eat at, .   

The backyard has very little shade, I like the idea of a shade sail, not sure how it would quite work yet.

Orange Change

This has been a fun filled month of change.  As a result posting wasn't high on my list of to dos.  This is what my list really looked like this month. 

1.  Get laid off.

2.  Figure out what I want to do with the rest of my life. 

3.  Look for work. 

4.  Look for work.

5.  Look for work.

You get the idea.  I've settled down into a nice schedule now - which involves getting up at 8 (which is when one should really get up, any earlier is inhuman), cooking a lot, working out, and spending hours on my computer researching jobs, applying for jobs, and working on wedding invites.   I have to say working at your desk is a nice thing, for one there's fresh air and secondly, working in pjs isn't a bad thing.   Recently we decided to get proper chairs for the sunroom/office.   

They are orange.  They are super comfortable and they make me happy.   And naturally a good deal for our laid off butts.

Hi!

Yes, I've been missing for a while. There are a number of things going on that have been keeping us at Chalet New York quite busy.   Exciting news includes getting counters in soon - we're actually getting measured for them this week.  The counters we decided to go with are called Ice Stone - it's a mix of recycled glass and concrete.  It's a more environmentally friendly than just plaine concrete with the benefit of some texture to it. 

 

So it won't quite look like our inspiration kitchen with the grey counters but it will look very cool.  Can't wait. 

Oh yes.

Who knew a refrigerator would bring so much joy. 

What you see here is our brand new fridge that took SIX weeks to arrive.  On the side of it is our cabinets we bought off of ebay.  On top are the temporary counters we got from home depot to allow us to cook.  And of course our beautiful floors.  On the side of the fridge, we are considering getting a pull out cabinet from IKEA that will hold all the canned goods.   On the fridge are clog magnets that were purchased in Amsterdam naturally.   

When do you want to come over for an awesome meal?

The peach tree blossoms are out in our front yard.  They make me happy!

Dresser

Here's the new dresser in our bedroom.  Soon the air conditioner and light will be moved.  Thinking about putting a console table closeby for make up and jewelry - you know a girly table.
